• Rugs hung up to dry out to the original moisture level, on specialised rug racks
• Wrapped and presented

All rugs are not cleaned in the same way, due to the different fibres and fabrics they are made from. Rugs that required specialised cleaning are:

• Silk rugs
• Wool rugs
• Latex backed rugs
• Cotton rugs (haitian)

Cleaning rugs is different from cleaning carpet, as they need to be cleaned in a unique way, depending on the fibres they are made from.

For instance, when we clean a silk rug, we cannot use agitation on it. Wool rugs need to be dye tested to make sure that dyes do not migrate and bleed. Latex backed rugs cannot have too much water and if they do they need to be dried quickly. And lastly cotton rugs must have limited moisture, a non alkaline cleaner and an acidic rinse, as well as prompt drying after cleaning.

Imagine if a carpet cleaner just walked into your home and cleaned the rug on the floor where it lays and didn’t take into account any of the issues these rugs can have. The only real rugs we can do in your home are the carpet squares that are actually mats made form offcuts, and in some cases machine woven or tufted Polypropylene (also known as Olefin) rugs.
